I was enrolled in a credit CARD consolidation program that was shut down by the state of Florida. The state took my money that was sitting in an escrow account for settling my debts. The state did not return the funds they sized. Since them ny credit score has collapsed and I am forced to pay my debts twice. How do i go about filing a lawsuit against the state for taking my money?

Interesting problem. If the money was in an escrow account and you have the account numbers/etc. and can prove it I would start by contacting the agency that seized the business.

But you do realize the reality here … your money probably never made it into an "escrow account". Whatever the business was was probably just a scam and that’s why the state shut it down. And if that’s the case, you’ll probably never see any of the money again, but pursuing criminal charges might be worth some time.
