Thanks, Nancy, I am going to research this. It will cost $14,000 for veneers.

Wow, that’s an interesting question. How old are you? If you were born after the 1970’s most likely you weren’t given tetracycline as an antibiotic. Or if you were it was after your teeth were formed. If you feel you were treated incorrectly by a doctor prescribing this after they knew of its effects, than maybe you could get help. It would take lots of paperwork and research to find out. I doubt very seriously there is anything out there that would be available. So many people have this problem because it took years to find out. There is a new product out called Deep Bleaching it is a process done by the dentist. You start with a 40 minute in office bleaching, then 2 weeks of home bleaching trays, then a 60 minute in office treatment to finish off. We have just started doing this in my office. We had a patient who was very resistant to the previous bleach treatments and now is in her first week of at home treatment..She is seeing results! She too had tetra. staining. It also has a special solution to be painted on to reduce any sensitivity in the teeth..so far so good. We charge $950 for all 3 treatments. If you compare that to crowns, which are about that much or more per tooth these days…it is a very inexpensive way to finally have white teeth!

    I’m a dentist.

Not when hell freezes over, friend. Not when hell freezes over.

Doctors (and the people who manufacture tetracycline) have known about this problem for many, many years. The doctor who prescribed it for you (almost certainly when you were a child) probably discussed it with your parents before you took the first pill.

You’re wasting your time. You’ll have more luck playing the lottery.
